The National School Transportation Association hosts two main live meetings each year - the Midwinter Meeting, held every January, as well as, our Annual Meeting and Convention, typically held in July. Both of these live meetings have informational professional development programs, and enjoyable networking events. In addition, NSTA has a Capitol Hill Bus-In that is set in concert with the Congressional calendar (usually March or April), gives participants a chance to engage with policy-makers and highlight the importance of private student transportation. Finally, the NSTA Fall Board is being revamped, in order to provide an opportunity for the Association to conduct its business in a convenient location.

NSTA Annual Meeting & Convention

The NSTA Annual Meeting & Convention (AMC) offers educational sessions, as well as other professional development and networking opportunities for attendees. Evening events at AMC also provide an opportunity to explore the host city, and host the annual NSTA Awards and Installation Dinner. The 2021 NSTA AMC was held in Milwaukee Wisconsin and was attended by close to 200 school transportation professionals who took advantage of the educational session and networking opportunities. At the event, 16 professional were recognized during the NSTA Awards and Installation Dinner and the Association inducted its 2021-2022 Slate of Officers. NSTA Midwinter Meeting

The executive team reviewed our schedule and execution of the upcoming 2022 NSTA Midwinter Meeting on a daily basis given the current Omicron situation. At the beginning of the week, we were still hopeful that NSTA would be able to successfully host this event, but after a full scale review of the options afforded us at this time, the decision was made to postpone the 2022 NSTA Midwinter Meeting. A number of factors went into arriving at this decision, including concerns over health, safety, travel, and the increasing disruption of school schedules brought on by the Omicron variant for both NSTA members and our guests.

We are all greatly disappointed at this, as we had record registrations for the meeting and certainly have work to be done. We will keep our interests moving and are already working on revamping live meeting schedules for 2022 and 2023.

Please be advised that you must personally cancel your room reservation no later than Monday, January 17, 2022, or you will be charged. Please contact Playa Largo Resort and Spa reservations directly at 305-853-1001 in order to do so. Also, we will be in touch with you directly about refunds for registration fees for this event. We apologize for any inconvenience this decision may cause, and send best New Year’s wishes for safety to all.

NSTA Capitol Hill Bus-In

As you know, this annual event remains the centerpiece of our federal advocacy efforts and allows us to engage our representatives in Washington, D.C., so they understand and recognize the issues that face the school transportation industry. Now, more than ever, we need to present a unified voice that highlights the benefits of private school bus contracting. We look forward to setting a new date for the next NSTA Capitol Hill Bus-In date as soon as possible.  When final dates are confirmed, we will provide details regarding the schedule, as well as registration information.

Please feel free to reach out to the NSTA team at info@yellowbuses.org, if you require information on these events, or any other issue of importance to you.
