Please be advised that your NSTA Membership Dues may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense, as determined your accountant or tax advisor. Pursuant to the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993, NSTA has determined that based upon our latest audited fiscal year information (2022-23) that 30.4% of your NSTA dues are attributable to nondeductible lobbying activity and therefore are not deductible under Internal Revenue Code Section 162 - as an ordinary and necessary business expense. Please consult your tax advisor for additional information on The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 that eliminated the deductibility of lobbying expenses for federal income tax purposes.
