John Corr

JOHN CORR, JR. is President and Chief Executive Officer of the TransGroup, LLC. Second generation to their family transportation business established on Long Island in 1957, the TransGroup operates over 1,000 School, Special Needs, Adult Handicapped and Transit vehicles throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, New York.

In addition, John Corr is the Past President of the New York School Bus Contractors Association and the President Elect of the National School transportation Association. He is also a past member of NYS Tri-Agency School Bus Safety committee, as well as a member of the NYS Governors Traffic Safety Committee. Additionally, he is member of the State Education Department Commissioner's Advisory Committee for Transportation.

As a supplier of school vehicles, he was a member of the National Dealers Council for American Transportation Corp., and currently is a minority shareholder of TCI, a manufacturer of school vans. Their sales division, Ward Bodies, Inc. sells and leases vehicles to operators, districts and municipalities throughout the United States.

In 1997, the New York State School Bus Contractors Association recognized John Corr, Jr., and his family of companies as the "Contractor of the Year." This honor is awarded to a contractor whose safety record, maintenance and business practices and active involvement in improving the school transportation industry set him apart from his peers.

In July of 1998, he was recognized by the National School Transportation Association and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award. In the year 2000 John Corr Jr., received the industries highest award and was recognized as School Bus Fleet Magazine and the National School Transportation Association as the "Contractor of the Year." At their awards dinner this past summer, the National School Transportation Association again recognized John with their "Distinguished Service Award", one of only two people to be recognized twice.

John, his wife Debra, children Jessica, Sean, Lindsey, Tara and Robert reside on their farm in Goshen, NY.
