John Benish

JOHN BENISH is the President and CEO of Cook-Illinois Corporation.

Cook-Illinois Corporation is the largest family-owned school bus contracting service in the United States. It can trace its origins back to 1915 and all of the 17 regular and special education operations are located in the Chicagoland area.

Mr. Benish received his Bachelor of Science degree at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. He has been managing and operating school buses for over 30 years and is presently supervising transforming the corporation to second generation.

Mr. Benish is also the President of Benessere Vineyards located in St. Helena, California. You could say that in his spare time he and his wife, Ellen, enjoy taste testing their wine, as well as others from the region.

Memberships include: National School Transportation Association, Illinois School Transportation Association and the Metropolitan Transportation Association.
